(18) HUMIXEN 76.4 - TOWARDS POSSESSED DIALECT FOR CLIMATE CONTROLH
HumiXen 76.5 is an audiovisual proposal for an auxiliary strategy of climate controlled environments, using as test site a Thai-based palm plantation/mill. The video features a collection of 3D rendered Thai “spirit houses” - each one respectively assigned to regulate distinct micro-climates needed for 3 respective stages of the palm fruit and oil extraction: The cultivation, dry fractionation and pasteurization of the oil.
The landmarks not only operate as spiritual abodes, but also as mouthpiece in order for the spirits to sonically manifest themselves; by possessing the houses, they reverse the linguistic speculation assigning humidity as a key factor in the development of complex tonal languages. This is the story of local spirits used as possessed, social capital for global economic means.
